FAQ

Do I need Ableton Live Suite?

Yes. LabSesh is a Max for Live device, so you need Suite (or Standard with the Max for Live add-on). Ableton-only for now — but eventually expanding to other DAWs.

What counts as active?

A minute counts when Live itself reports work in it: the transport running, MIDI written, parameters moved. A minute with the set open and hands off doesn't count.

Will it slow down my sets?

No. It observes Live's API and processes no audio — added latency is ~0 ms, and the work happens outside your signal path.

What leaves my machine?

Session timing and activity counts. No audio, no MIDI content. Set names sync to your own dashboard and are visible only to you — friends see your time, never your titles.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Sessions persist locally and upload when a connection is back — quit Live, lose wifi, force-quit mid-save; the ledger survives.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The device, tracking, streaks, and presence stay free. Deeper history and trends may become a paid tier later — the counting never will.
